Clinical Research Coordinator
Position Description
The Center for Advanced Cardiac Care at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support advanced heart failure clinical and translational research under the supervision of Dr. Melana Yuzefpolskaya and Dr. Paolo Colombo.
The coordinator will assist with multiple ongoing studies focused on heart failure pathophysiology and outcomes, including research related to the human microbiome, renal function, LVAD therapy, and heart transplantation. The program offers strong mentorship and opportunities to contribute to publications and presentations at major cardiology conferences.
Responsibilities include:
- Screening, consenting, and enrolling participants in clinical research studies
- Coordinating research meetings and activities
- Managing research databases, including data entry and quality checks
- Supporting data analysis and preparing figures and tables
- Assisting with IRB submissions, renewals, amendments, and regulatory documentation
- Contributing to manuscript preparation and submission
- Supporting development of research proposals and data collection protocols
- Assisting with presentations at research meetings and conferences
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in clinical research coordination or related research roles
- Familiarity with human subjects research (screening, consenting, IRB processes)
- Experience with research databases and data management
Additional Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate research records
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
