Position Description
Berkeley Pharma Tech is seeking part time college research interns to participate in their Medical Research Bootcamp. Interns will be divided into groups of 4 or 5, and each group will receive a different challenge for the semester (earlier applicants get first choice). They will be working with the team and closely with the director to research and innovate a new medicine that can be used to treat current diseases. If the research is successful, Berkeley Pharma Tech can assist the team in transforming it into a startup. 

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing the current literature on PubMed
• Attending relevant webinars
• Completing technical writing
• Completing other tasks as assigned

• Medical challenges of focus for interns could include finding a new treatment for diabetes, slowing down cellular degeneration and more

Position Requirements

• High-school degree is preferred
• Currently enrolled in Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or relevant courses
• Strong writing skills required
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to initiate and conduct work independently and efficiently
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Experience with using statistics or data, technical writing, research, and lab work are a plus
• Proficiency in online research, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

• Demonstrated commitment to the medical research career path, with an interest in eventually pursuing a PhD in biomedical research, bioengineering, chemistry or a relevant field a plus

Time Commitment
Part-time, 12 hours per week.
