Position Description NYU Children’s Health and Environment Study (NYU CHES) is a pregnancy cohort supported by NYU School of Medicine (NYUSoM).The study is based upon a decade-long history of successful observational and interventional studies that recruit pregnant women at NYUSoM affiliates. Beginning in the first trimester of pregnancy, NYU CHES has recruited and enrolled over 2000 women from diverse populations served by NYU Tisch, Bellevue, and NYU Brooklyn. NYU CHES postnatal is the pediatric follow up phase. The organization is seeking an intern to assist in the recruitment and follow up process. This internship opportunity may fulfill a practicum requirement.
Attending orientation and other necessary training
Conducting outreach and assisting in the recruitment process
Screen parents/participants for eligibility and schedule initial visits
Administering questionnaires to study participants, including those with limited English proficiency
Assisting in the collection, processing, and shipping of biospecimens
Assisting staff during study visits with enrolled parents and their babies
Performing data entry and assisting in data analysis
Must be able to travel to various locations throughout New York City
Must have a BA, MA, MPH, or MD
Spanish or Chinese language, a plus
Part-time, 3 months up to a year, with approximately 10-15 hours per week
