Position Description
The National Alliance of Research Associates Programs (NARAP) is seeking college graduates and graduating seniors doing a year or more before matriculating to health professional school to serve as Line Research Associates and Chief Research Associates in the Emergency Department at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. 

The RA Program at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT has thirty (30) slots for Line RAs for the summer semester and four (4) Chief RA positions for this coming year.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as their RA Program Director's assistants for the academic year or until health professional school matriculation
  • Developing their RA Program’s recruiting, personnel management, scheduling, website, database management
  • Handling Line RAs' on-shift issues
  • Participating in all aspects of clinical research from concept initiation to publication
  • Attending didactic sessions and research meetings of their department of emergency medicine
  • Depending on their level of involvement, may be the principal or associate investigators on study(ies)

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and pre-requisite courses completed
  • Applying to medical school, or other health professional school
  • Complete an on-line training course through St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT

Time Commitment
Part-time. Chief RAs serve about 20 hours per week. Line RAs serve a minimum of one 4-hour shift per week.
