Position Description
The School of Nursing is looking for a Variable Hours Officer to support one or more research projects in both English and Spanish.
Responsibilities include:
The Variable Hours Officer will carry out the day-to-day operations of research, which include but are not limited to:
- Conducting recruitment over the phone;
- Screening and consenting eligible participants;
- Organizing and conducting study visits/study procedures remotely (i.e., by Zoom) or in person with appropriate personal protective equipment;
- Submitting and maintaining regulatory documents for/to IRB;
- Collecting data for tracking and evaluation activities;
- Coordinating data management for analysis; and
- Performing other related duties as required.
Position Requirements
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus two years of related experience;
- Fluency in Spanish
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A strong level of attention to detail with the ability to multitask;
- Knowledge of computer skills (ex. Microsoft Office Suites, Zoom) required;
- Must be able to work independently effectively under minimal supervision;
- Must successfully complete Institutional Good Clinical Practices and HIPAA training and Certification;
- A strong background with research recruitment, screening, enrollment, follow-up calls and retention activities.
- Experience with REDCap and Epic (electronic health record) a plus
- Proficiency with statistical software a plus
Time Commitment
Part-time, 10-15 hours per week, with a commitment through December 2021
Please note: The position is primarily remote, although some on-campus work may be needed in the coming months.
Compensation
$32.14 per hour
