Position Description
The Division of Gender, Sexuality & Health at the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a project manager for Project AFFIRM, a NIH-funded longitudinal study of transgender and nonbinary identity development across the lifespan.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day research activities.
- Organizing and participating in meetings with the principal investigator, research assistants, volunteers, and members of the community advisory board.
- Liaising, coordinating, and overseeing activities at the other two study sites (Atlanta and San Francisco).
- Preparing IRB materials.
- Hiring and training research assistants.
- Participating in in-person and remote recruitment activities as needed.
- Scheduling interviews with research participants.
- Communicating with research participants as needed.
- Monitoring data collection and analysis.
- Partaking in triangulation of qualitative and quantitative data.
- Processing budget forms.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts for the dissemination of findings.
- Conducting other administrative and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, public health, psychology, or related field.
- Two years of experience or training in a medical or social science research environment.
- At least one year of experience working with gender-diverse communities and/or with organizations concerned about the health and wellbeing of transgender and gender nonbinary (TGNB) individuals.
- Master's degree in social sciences, public health, psychology, or related field is a plus.
- Spanish language fluency is a plus.
