Position Description
Dr. Rebecca Hughes, an emergency physician at St. George Regional Hospital near Zion National Park in Southern Utah, is looking to hire a medical scribe. This is a large level 2 trauma center and the only big hospital between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, so they have a fairly large volume of patients that are high acuity and have a high admission rate. You must have a strong stomach, be ready for a fast-paced environment, and work well with the whole team.
This position is ideal for a student in their glide year, and the successful applicant will see everything that Dr. Hughes sees and record histories and physical into the electronic medical record. Alongside scribe duties, they will also have the opportunity to assist with ultrasounds and procedures. In addition, Dr. Hughes has worked extensively in medical school admissions and residency matching/interviews, and can offer advice on the application process, interviewing, and personal statements.
Time Commitment
Part-time (14-15 shifts per month)
Compensation
Starts at $17 per hour
