Position Description
The Kreisl Lab at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time lab technician. This is best suited for recent graduates with some paid research experience who are looking to work in research for a few years before applying for medical school/PhD/grad-school.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the research team analyze PET and MRI data with advanced software packages
- Inputting all of the data collected into a computerized database
- Interacting with research participants during study visits, including neuroimaging procedures (MRI and PET scans)
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience
- Ability to use computers and learn new programs to collect data for a computer based database
- Comfortable with Windows OS and Excel
- Will require training module in IRB-approved courses such as Columbia University Subjects Protection and HIPAA training modules.
