Position Description
The Columbia University Medical Center is seeking two technician B for their research group investigating the pathogenesis of Essential Tremor (ET), a prevalent neurological disorder.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing a wide variety of histological and molecularbiology procedures on human postmortem brain tissue samples for several projects in the lab
- Performing quantitative morphologic analyses, including collecting microscopic images
- Characterizing axonal and synaptic changes and a variety of other neuropathologic parameters
- Organizing the storage of formalin fixed brain samples and histology slides, data management
- Performing other related tasks that are necessary to the functioning of the laboratory
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biomedical science, or comparable scientific field acceptable or equivalent in education, training, and experience
- Experience in molecular biologic techniques a plus
