Position Description
The laboratory of Dr. Seychelle Vos at MIT's Department of Biology is seeking a technical associate to join a new research team studying how gene expression and genome architecture are coupled.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing protein expression, protein purification, molecular cloning, insect cell culture work, and structure determination
- Assisting with lab organization, including database management
- Training new members
- Overseeing reagent maintenance
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, genetics, biophysics, molecular biology, or related field
- At least two years’ work experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate) in a biochemistry/molecular biology laboratory
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with molecular cloning and cell culture a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a one-year commitment.
