The Jung Laboratory at the Eaton Peabody Lab Consortium in the Department of Otolaryngology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is hiring a research technician. Their projects focus on the effects of synaptopathy in the inner ear and methods of restoring hearing loss.
Genotyping and cryosectioning
Using immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry, adult and post-natal cochlear dissection, cell culture, and confocal imaging
Handling mouse breeding and injections, general colony management, small rodent survival surgery, auditory brainstem response tests, and cardiac perfusion
Maintaining records of research activities and controlled substance usage
Assisting in drafting, submission and ongoing review of animal use and safety protocols
Assisting with IRB and IACUC regulatory process submissions
Submitting orders for animals and lab supplies as required
Looking for candidates who will be graduating in May 2022 and are interested in continuing as a research technician for a minimum of two years post-grad
Full-time, with a two year commitment. The preferred start date is July 2022; the candidate may also have to work on a volunteer basis before July 2022 for training purposes.
