Position Description
The Fredericks Lab is seeking a post-baccalaureate research associate to assist at the Yale Clinical Neurosciences Imaging Center. They use a multimodal neuroimaging approach (including functional and structural MRI and targeted PET imaging) to better understand how Alzheimer’s disease (especially less common variants that disproportionately impact language and spatial function) affects brain circuits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with participant recruitment and screening
  • Administering neuropsychological tasks and scanning sessions
  • Utilizing software for image processing and analysis
  • Reviewing the current scientific literature 
  • Participating in local and national conferences and symposia on neurodegenerative disease
  • Working one-on-one with patients to study the clinical manifestations of Alzheimer's

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, demonstrated interest in the neurosciences a plus 
  • A strong quantitative background, including prior exposure/coursework in statistical or coding software, such as RStudio, Git/Github, Matlab, Stata, bash/tcsh, JavaScript or Visual Basic a plus 
  • Strong initiative and ability to problem-solve independently and learn new software programs
  • Ability to work as part of a team and seek direction/assistance when needed
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate warmly and sensitively with research participants and their families
