Position Description
NYU School of Medicine is seeking a research assistant to join the research laboratory of Dr. Nathaniel Landau. The candidate will investigate innate and adaptive immune responses to HIV infection and new approaches to therapy for SARS-CoV-2. The position is suited for a highly motivated young scientist with a background in Immunology and Molecular Biology who is interested to join a competitive research team with opportunities for coauthorship on high impact scientific publications.
Responsibilities Include
- Performing tissue cultures, flow cytometry, molecular cloning and construction of plasmid vectors.
- Preparing RNA and plasmid DNA
- Using Immunofluorescence and PCR
- Western blotting
- Working on the transfection and genetic manipulation of mice
- Organizing supplies, stocking reagents, and databases
Position Requirements
- Must have a B.S. in Molecular Biology or a related subject and some laboratory experience
- Knowledge of cell biology and molecular biology is a plus
- Experience in tissue culture is a plus
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a preferred two year commitment
Compensation
$43,800-$45,552
