Position Description
Marks Colorectal Surgical Associates at the Lankenau Medical Center, just outside of Philadelphia, is seeking to hire a full-time research assistant. The research assistant will gain extensive clinical and academic experience, gathering data in state-of-the-art operating suites & patient exam rooms in order to manage multiple databases on robotic and laparoscopic surgeries as well as rectal cancer management.
The job entails close work with internationally esteemed surgeons, fellows, residents, and medical staff. The clinical and academic experience will certainly help with career decisions and strengthen the research assistant’s application. Furthermore, this position has an excellent track record of getting applicants accepted to top-tier medical schools.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating a presentation consisting of recent interesting/difficult cases twice a month, which is then presented to a multidisciplinary panel of physicians at Rectal Cancer Management Conference
- Collecting data on advanced minimally invasive procedures in state-of-the-art laparoscopic and robotic operating suites
- Managing the practice’s surgical databases and utilizing this data to prepare abstracts and manuscripts for submission to surgical/oncologic conferences and publications
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a one-year commitment beginning mid- to late-May 2023
