Position Description
The UCSF Breast Care Center Project is seeking a student to join their Bay Area-based team as a Research Assistant.

The intern will work closely with the Director or a faculty member and other members of the research and clinical care team of the UCSF Breast Care Center to accomplish the research goals of the Center. This will include involvement in such areas as clinical research, basic science research, delivery of care, and/or patient education.

Responsibilities include:

  • Training as a consultation planner
  • Assisting patients in sifting through information and asking questions during consultations with surgeons and oncologists
  • Shadowing oncologists and surgeons in the clinic and the operating room

Position Requirements

  • Prior laboratory experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with computer programming is a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with a minimum one-year commitment. Positions are either 1 or 2 years in length (depending on the assignment). The intern will be required to occasionally work weekends and evenings to finish a project. The position will start on June 12, 2023 and end on June 28, 2024.

Compensation
Approximately $43,013 plus benefits. Information about health insurance and other benefits available on the UCSF website.
