Position Description
An Ear, Nose, and Throat Center in Stamford Connecticut is seeking a gap-year student a full-time medical assistant in the physicians office. Duties range from obtaining medical histories, and educating patients, to assisting with in office procedures. Medical assistants are under direct physician supervision with increasing independence over time. Individuals taking the position should expect to learn a breadth of head and neck anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology along with diagnostic and treatment options. Time is spent primarily in the office, however, individuals can also shadow the physician in the operating room as frequently as desired. No experience is required and the expected start date will be in June.
Position requirements
- Must be able to commit at least one year to the position
- Being interested in a strong clinical experience with ample direct patient contact prior to possibly proceeding with education in a health care related field, a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a minimum commitment of one year
