Position Description
Tisch MSRCNY is seeking a Laboratory Research Assistant and Clinical Research Assistant to add to their independent research center in New York City under the direction of Saud A. Sadiq, MD. The mission of Tisch MSRCNY is to find the cause and cure for multiple sclerosis through a multidisciplinary approach incorporating the fields of immunology, molecular biology, stem cell biology, neuroscience, and clinical translational research.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing laboratory techniques including, but not limited to, PCR, aseptic cell culture technique, histology, experimental animal models, western blotting, ELISAs, and flow cytometry
- Processing and banking biological specimens
- Documenting experimental objectives, design, methods, data collection, and data analysis
- Carrying out literature searches and giving journal presentations
- Participating in lab meetings and journal clubs.
- Performing general laboratory tasks including stocking and inventory, equipment maintenance, and reagent preparation
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences. Applicants with a graduation date for the spring of 2021 a plus
- Previous laboratory and/or clinical research experience required
Time Commitment
Full-time, starting in summer 2022 with a two-year minimum commitment
