Position Description
The Miriam Merad Lab at Mount Sinai is seeking a research technician to work in the area of cancer immunology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Learning gene editing, sequencing, viral vector gene delivery, recombinant DNA methods, cell culture, flow cytometry
  • Performing necessary analysis and calculations, analyzing and interpreting data
  • Performing experiments in molecular biology, immunology, tumor models, cytometry, cellular engineering
  • Participating/presenting work in laboratory meetings and read relevant literature
  • Maintaining and organizing lab mouse strains, and perform injection of tumor cells, collection/harvesting of tissues, and autopsies
  • Preparing laboratory equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays and other supplies

Position Requirements

  • Degree in life sciences, with courses in molecular and cell biology is a plus
  • 1+ years experience in a life sciences laboratory is a plus
  • Generally experienced in handling mice (breeding, weaning and maintaining lines, tail DNA prep), molecular biology (PCR, DNA and RNA isolation, cloning), and mammalian cell culture is a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, with a two-year commitment
