Position Description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join their team. 

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will report to the Clinical Research Manager at Columbia University within the Division of Gynecologic Specialty Surgery. The candidate will play an integral role in the coordination and implementation of federally and industry sponsored clinical trials involving human subjects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing GCP, HIPAA and applicable regulatory training
  • Completing certification requirements for assigned protocols
  • Screening designated schedules or patient lists for eligible subjects
  • Approaching and verifying eligibility subjects
  • Consenting and Enrolling eligible subjects
  • Completing research study visits as delineated in assigned protocol and manual of operations set forth by sponsor and supervisor.
  • Completing Telephone or email follow-up and telephone or email reminder calls for study participants, during these phone calls the person will need to administer study questionnaire as assigned
  • Coordinating the collection of all research data points as assigned, whether through research visits, chart abstraction or telephone.
  • Scheduling research visits, processing and shipping of samples
  • Picking up, processing, transporting and shipping of biological specimens as assigned and following instructions delineated in the protocol or manual of operations.
  • Completing study documents and files; some examples might include case report forms, worksheets and medical record notes.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of documents and files such as HIPAA.
  • Informing relevant clinical staff regarding subject protocol participation.
  • Assisting in other research related activities and projects as needed
  • Regularly collaborating with the PI and other research staff

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in experience and education plus 2 years of related experience
  • Experience in a patient care setting  and clinical research experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication, and organizational skills are required  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Complete proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, 35 hours per week.
