Position Description
The Petersen Lab at Yale Neurology, specializing in individualized stroke and cerebrovascular research, is seeking a clinical research coordinator.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting non-invasive patient neuromonitoring in the Neuroscience ICU, Interventional Radiology Suite, and the Emergency Department, both during normal working hours and during periodic on-call shifts
- Screening and consenting patients, reviewing medical charts, and collecting outcomes data via telephone interviews
- Leading independent research projects and analyzing data, preparing abstracts and manuscripts, and presenting at conferences
- Interacting with patients throughout the course of acute stroke treatment, following them from their arrival to the Emergency Department and through potential neurosurgical intervention, as well as during their stay in the Neuroscience ICU
- Working with physicians, nurses, and other members of the diverse medical team
Position Requirements
- Must be able to work full-time and in-person (COVID-permitting) at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT for minimum of two years
- Prior experience conducting research in a clinical setting a plus
- Prior experience working directly with patients (e.g. as an EMT, CNA, MA, or hospital volunteer) a plus
- Proficiency with data analysis and/or signal processing in MATLAB, R, or Python a plus
- Proficiency with statistical computing software such as GraphPad Prism, SPSS, Stata, or Excel a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a two-year commitment, starting in mid-June 2022.
