Position Description
Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for a clinical research coordinator to join their NIH-funded research project on central nervous system diseases.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruiting and screening healthy volunteers and chronic pain patients.
- Applying quantitative sensory testing to both patients and healthy control subjects, involving different testing apparatus such as electrical and thermal pain stimuli.
- Coordinating with nursing staff to set up participants in the MRI/PET scanning environment.
- Operating the combined MRI/PET scanner at the Martinos Center, under the supervision of lab PI.
- Preparing interim reports for grant agencies (e.g., NIH) and assisting in manuscripts of completed projects for publication in technical journals, presentations at professional field meetings/conferences, and further applied or theoretical research activities.
- Pre-process, quality-control, and analyzing behavioral and brain imaging data collected from the studies noted above.
- Performing administrative duties such as ordering supplies.
- Managing IRB applications and miscellaneous lab operations.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, psychology, neuroscience, bioengineering or related field.
- Must be proficient with computers and databases and able to troubleshoot and problem solve independently.
- 1 year research experience (including as part of an undergraduate program) is a plus.
- Familiarity with imaging software and previous experience as a CRC is a plus.
- Experience with computational software (e.g. MATLAB, R) is a plus.
- Familiarity with OHRP/FDA regulations and guidelines is a plus.
