Position Description
Dr. Nina Bhardwaj’s group within the Vaccine and Cell Therapy Laboratory (VCTL) at Mount Sinai is seeking an associate researcher to study immune responses in cancer patients enrolled in clinical trials. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting a variety of research experiments using advanced research techniques specific to subject matter of the research project. Commonly used techniques include, but not are not limited to, tetramer production, flowcytometry, ELISPOT assay, and T cell expansion.
  • Co-ordinating project activities to meet deadlines
  • Collaborating with the principal investigator in the development of new experiments and research techniques
  • Assisting in the implementation of standardized protocols for experiments and training purposes, creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specific for each study if needed
  • Mentoring and training less experienced research staff and graduate students in research techniques and use of equipment
  • Following strict standards for maintaining lab notebooks, research data and sample/reagent inventory, as specified by the PI

Position Requirements

  • BS or MS in biological sciences or 3 years of experience working in a research laboratory
  • Must be able to read and understand scientific data being applied to conduct the research
  • Prior experience in assays to determine T cell function is a plus
