Position Description
Close Concerns, a healthcare information company that advocates for people with diabetes, seeks undergraduate applicants for its two-year Associate Program, based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing, editing and publishing Close Concern products frequently by attending scientific conferences and interviewing experts, including business leaders and world-class endocrinologists
  • Becoming an expert in all aspects of diabetes – such as therapies, medical devices, digital health, clinical research, public health, regulatory, and business issues
  • Authoring and publishing research papers in peer reviewed journals or at major conferences
  • Traveling thirty to forty percent of the time 

Position Requirements

  • Demonstrated academic excellence
  • Scientific background; research and/or data science experience is encouraged
  • Exceptionally strong writing, editing, and synthesizing skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytic skills
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • High energy and ability to keep multiple projects moving simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate frequently within small teams
  • Reliability; commitment to schedules and deadlines 

Time Commitment
Full-time, with a two year commitment. 

Compensation
TBD. Appropriate for living in San Francisco with promotion opportunities and salary increase after 12 months. 401(k) plan with employer contribution and health insurance plan. Also includes financial support for gym membership/fitness classes, public transportation pass, and professional development support. The organization also provides references, free access to an excellent graduate school admissions advisor, and time off and financial support for exams or exam prep.
