Position Description
The Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an assistant/associate researcher for a laboratory for inflammatory skin diseases that is responsible for many breakthrough findings leading to new treatments for inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema, alopecia areata, and more.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting experiments using advanced research techniques specific to subject matter of the research project
- Analyzing and assisting in interpreting moderately complex results
- Performing assays to support research studies
- Assisting in new and unexpected research experiments and techniques
- Assisting in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science is required. For an associate researcher, Master is a plus
- Prior lab experience in laboratory techniques such as qPCR, RNA-Seq, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and tissue culture
- Strong computer skills are required. Experience building and managing databases is a plus
- Past laboratory experience a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Minimum two-year commitment.
