Columbia is one of the world’s great research universities. As an undergraduate here, you are invited to become involved in the research activities which are taking place all over campus – whether you have prior experience or you are brand new to research. In this workshop, we will discuss the many benefits of engaging in research: how it allows you to explore your intellectual interests, grasp the limits of knowledge in your field, learn how to design and tackle a problem methodically, make connections with faculty, and prepare for future educational and career opportunities. We will explore ways to discover your research interests, reach out to potential faculty/research supervisors, and identify the research resources available to you as well as potential summer research opportunities. We will also have a GS student panel who will share their research experiences with you. GS students of all years are encouraged to attend.
A Zoom link for the workshop will be sent to all registrants 1-2 hours before the start time.
